As someone who has, unfortunately, not read the books, I have been blown away by both seasons of Dexter. My brother has read both books 1 and 2, and tells me of the difference between the two, and it sounds like, they are not much different, but obviously, the books go into a bit more detail.
Watching the series, it was good to see how Dexter deals with the predicaments he finds himself in the last few episodes, and obviously, I don't want to give spoilers out, but I really would like to read book one and two before series 3 comes out in september.
Ok, I admit it. Like Dexter, I have an addiction. An addiction that needs to be quenched. That addiction is Dexter. I watched the last 6 episodes of season 2 in one go, and my need for more Dexter is eating me up!! So many questions that need to be asked and answered.
As to the original question... the book sor the shows? Well, I think if you have not read the books, then the series is the best way to enter the world of Dexter, and embrace this anti hero, even just to find out how the hell he gets away with the things he does!
As for the books, well, seeing as I have not read any of them yet, hopefully I'll win a copy to continue my addiction of Dexter!!...
