It's good to read the above post, being one of the people only to have seen the series, not read the books. I think Batista, in the series, means a lot to Dexter, whereas, from what i read above, he means nothing to Dex in the book, and Massuka, in the book, is Dex's kinda fave,
After seeing both seasons, it's hard to imagine Batista not to be close to Dex, so more light reading is in call for me!!...
